Course Overview
The feminine has often been equated with the unconscious versus the masculine as an equivalent to consciousness. In this modules we dive into feminine consciousness. What has been regarded as unconscious and taken for granted aqua not understood and thus not valued. An underlying judgement that it is less is underlying the distinction between the one and the other: the conscious as a masculine valued in our modern/Western ideology and the unconscious Feminine that was often not seen. Logic and logos dominates the masculine oriented mind and the feminine's core is Eros and mystery.
The feminine is rich with images that are hard to be grasped by the logical mind only. This is why in this module we let myths, literature guide us to see the value of the feminine.
Although women may identify easily with the feminine, the feminine is part of the psyche of everyone despite the gender. A sense of lack (of self worth) is an issue of women, men and all gender spectrum as well, in fact it is an ill of modern humans.
Who are we if we can not give proof of who we are by our looks, our ownerships our schooling: what are you capable of and can you prove it? How to step away from the race towards a standard that is defined by forces outside us?
We will descend to the realm of mythical feminine figures who will teach us about the power of self worth :
- The creation myth: Eva vs Lilith : The first rejection.
- Demetre and Persephone: the feminine who loves too much
- Psyche and Amores: The feminine discovers the masculine within
- Inana's journey to the underworld: The sovereignty regained the feminine governs above, the feminine governs below.
- Integration: in this meeting we conclude: what are your own lessons? this module is for you to share what you have learned form the first 4 modules. You will be invited to write and share with the group.
What to expect
A theoretical part where I lay out the concepts and the myth and an experiential part where you are invited to ' digest' and integrate the content. There will be room for you to share and ask questions.
Why join this course?
It is true validation and recognition is an innate need but when it seems never to be satisfied, something deeper is at play. This results often in a burnout, depression and further more several addictions. Those addictions may be accepted socially such us : dieting, sporting, working long hours and perfectionism but this does not make them serving to your own wellbeing… You feel you have to do more and become better and that nothing is satisfying this hunger for more and better: you are continuously bettering yourself! It seems you are waiting for life to happen when you fulfil that or this condition!
If you recognise your hunger for validation and are noticing that you are dependent on it in ways that are causing harm/discomfort/unease and struggle and want to liberate yourself from these needs you will benefit from this course.
Although the lectures are no therapy sessions the insights into the deep distortion of the feminine, that is the core of this sense of lacking, will make a deep change in your unconscious beliefs and will lead to more consciousness about the deeper layers of the wound of not being enough.
